Jason and I left the Wedding Pavilion and got into the limo to go to our reception at the White Hall Patio Room at the Grand Floridian. We were so happy that all the stress was finally over and we could go party with Mickey & Minnie!
We had an escape wedding so the reception was only 30 minutes and included a toast by my sister, Tricia, followed by cake cutting and dancing with Mickey & Minnie!
When we walked in, we were announced and everybody applauded! I was just excited for cake at that point, remember all I had to eat all day was that measly blueberry muffin!
My sister began her speech with "Por favor manténganse alejado de las puertas" It was hilarious! We all got a kick out of it and she did a really good job.
After the toast, Mickey and Minnie arrived!! Ah I just wish I could go back and tell my 12 year old self that I did end up having Mickey and Minnie at my wedding. It's what I've always wanted :)
It's amazing how Mickey and Minnie "told" us what to do without saying a single word. They motioned to the knife, put our hands on top of it, and then we cut the cake! It was a delicious yellow cake with chocolate mousse. I ended up eating it for breakfast every day of our honeymoon!
I love this shot! I've seen it before in so many wedding reports and now it's mine!!
Yay now it's time to party!! The violinist was very good and he played things that were not on my list of song choices but it worked out very nicely! At one point he played the Pirates of the Caribbean theme and I loved it!!
This is one of my favorites, I look so over the top ridiculously happy!!
Aww just the girls! We actually had a "conversation" with Minnie about her awesome bling!
So happy together...
Then Mickey and Minnie motioned for us to come up front again for a special surprise! They gave us a really nice Disney Fairytale Weddings watch set with a Cinderella Castle design!
It was like Sophie's Choice selecting which photos to go next! Luckily, the entire photo library is included in a slideshow at the end of this post! During these next pictures with Mickey, Minnie was standing off to the side with Jason covering her eyes!
We had to get a princess pose with Minnie!
Then it was Mickey's turn to cover his eyes!
Of course the girls had to get autographs! I'm afraid we're getting close to them feeling like they're too old for that sort of thing :(
30 minutes goes pretty quickly when you are having fun with Mickey and Minnie! They hugged us and waved goodbye. Then it was time to leave! Our wedding planner, Vita, gave us a few more presents including a Disney Fairytale Honeymoons tote bag which I LOVED because I collect tote bags! She also gave us our wedding video! I really thought they would mail it to us, I didn't know that we would get it right after the reception!
We walked from the White Hall Patio Room as a group back to the lobby of the Grand Floridian. On the way, we got to pass the bus stop and people ooed and aahed and started applauding as we walked by. I loved every minute! First we stopped off in our room to drop off our goodies and then we went down to the grand staircase for some photos!
I got all kinds of teary taking these pictures because this was another thing I had dreampt of my entire life. Standing on the grand staircase at the Grand Floridian in my wedding dress with my husband. Life just doesn't get any better!
"Sisters, sisters, there were never such devoted sisters..."
Then it was time for us all to part ways :( That's ok, we still had the Illuminations Dessert Party to look forward to that night!
Stay tuned for the full Illuminations Dessert Party Recap complete with food porn! And stay tuned for the full honey -er, I mean Disneymoon, and bridal portrait sessions at the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT on day 7!
